Valorlis reinforces recycling

Valorlis invests 1,2 M€ in new vehicles

Valorlis is reinforcing the selective waste collection activity, through the acquisition of six new ecopoints selective collection vehicles, an investment of 1.2 million Euros.

Three of the foreseen vehicles are already at Valorlis service and the remaining vehicles will be received until the end of 2022, which will allow to increase the frequency of ecopoints collection and to improve the quality of the service provided to the population.

The new vehicles have a lowered cabin, aiming to facilitate the collection operations and reducing the employees' physical wear. This measure will substantially improve the working conditions of the operators who daily operate the equipment, in terms of comfort and safety.

The vehicles already have the new collection operations management system that will assimilate data and parameters in real time, through a digital platform, which, as a whole, will contribute to decision support for the selective collection of ecopoints activity.

In order to respond effectively to the growth in recyclable waste of paper/cardboard, plastic/metal packaging and glass deposited in the recycling points, Valorlis, besides the new equipment, is investing in the increase of human resources, having opened eight new vacancies for operators, drivers and technicians to support the selective collection operations.

Marta Guerreiro, Valorlis' Delegated Administrator, points out that "the acquisition of new vehicles for selective collection will contribute to an improvement in the service provided to the populations of the six counties within Valorlis' area of intervention and guarantee the recovery of recyclable waste in a more sustainable way".
