Amarsul, EGF's concessionaire in the Setúbal peninsula, reinforced the selective collection of glass in Barreiro with 233 green ecopoints.

Since the end of 2018, Amarsul has strengthened its ecopoint network by bringing recyclable containers from the population in a way that makes it easier to separate and dispose of waste. This project covers all the municipalities of the Peninsula of Setúbal, being co-financed by POSEUR - Operational Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources.

In the specific case of the Municipality of Barreiro, Amarsul is strengthening the network of GREEN ecopoints that will be distributed as follows:

• Parish of Santo António da Charneca - 38 units
• U.F. Alto do Seixalinho, Santo André and Verderena - 141 units
• U.F. Barreiro and Lavradio - 54 units

This investment complements the installation of the more than 400 containers for paper / carton and plastic / metal, made available to the citizens of Barreiro, reinforced by the awareness actions that are taking place among the population. With the correct separation of recyclables by citizens, less waste will be sent to landfill and everyone benefits: we pay less and recycle more.
