MARCH 14, 2019

The Torres Vedras Carnival has hit the recycling record this year. Valorsul, EGF's concessionaire for the North and West Lisbon regions, received 13 tons of recycled packaging, divided into 7 tons of plastic and metal; more than 4 tons of glass and close to 2 tons of paper and cardboard, hitting the recycling record of this event.

Due to this good performance, Valorsul will deliver a counterpart in the amount of 1,950 euros. This year, the municipality decided that the donation will be given to the Humanitarian Association of the Torres Vedras Volunteer Firefighters. The event also had the support of Novo Verde, with "human ecopoints" that helped make separation even easier and fun.

25 ECOEVENTS IN VALORSUL IN 2018

Every year, Valorsul challenges the municipalities that organize events to request the classification of Ecoevent. Valorsul provides training and support for proper waste management and a financial contribution according to the amount of waste collected selectively. In 2018, at Valorsul, 25 EcoEvents were promoted, which enabled the recycling of more than 100 tons of material and support to numerous institutions to which the counterpart was given.

AND AFTER THE EVENT, WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MATERIAL?

Recyclable materials selectively collected during events in the West region (plastics, metals, glass, paper and cardboard) are diverted from the landfill and transported to the Valorsul sorting center in the municipality of Cadaval, where they will be prepared to be accepted for each of the recycling industries, to whom they will be delivered.
