MARCH 18, 2020

The General Directorate of Health (DGS) and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action have defined new precautions for the deposition of residues to prevent contamination by COVID-19.

During the fight against the pandemic, EGF asks the population to comply with the new rules on handling domestic waste:

  1. If you have people in your family who are infected (or with this suspicion) remember that their waste can also be infected. In that case, you should:

    - Put the waste in resistant and disposable garbage bags, with filling up to 2/3 (two thirds) of its capacity - do not completely fill the bags;

    - The properly closed bags must be placed in a second bag, properly closed, and this must be deposited in the common waste container (undifferentiated waste);

    - The bags must always be placed inside the container - do not leave the bag on the floor. If it is full, put it in the nearest container or use it when it is available.

  2. In addition, masks, gloves and handkerchiefs should always be placed in the general waste container.

Every day workers in the waste collection and treatment sector continue to contribute to the cleaning of our streets, through selective collection, and to ensure the treatment of our waste. The best way to thank them is to share and comply with these rules and be understanding of the adaptations to the collection that your municipality and Valorsul may have to make.
