MAY 29, 2020

Today, the National Energy Day, is celebrated in Portugal. The commemoration of this date aims to alert the population to the need to develop sustainable energy efficiency strategies.

According to the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency (PNAEE): "Member States of the European Union have committed by 2020 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20%, to increase the proportion of renewable energy sources in the European Union (EU) energy mix by an equal percentage and to reach the 20% target set for energy efficiency".

To contribute to these goals, in 2019, EGF exported 501 GWh of energy from domestic waste, 63% from energy recovery, 29% from landfill biogas and 8% from organic recovery units, which corresponds to an export that exceeds 2018's values in more than 4.8%.

Together we are able to preserve natural resources and enhance the environment, do your part and adopt renewable energy measures!
