EGF, a company of the MOTA-ENGIL group, responsible for the treatment and recovery of urban waste in 174 municipalities in Portugal, registered an increase in selective collection of 13% in 2019 compared to 2018, above the national average of 10%.

The excellent performance of Amarsul, Ersuc, Suldouro, Resinorte and Valorlis stands out, with growth rates above 16% compared to the same period last year. It should also be noted, due to the positive performance, that almost all EGF companies grew more than 10%.

These extraordinary growths are the result of a high investment program carried out, integrated in an application co-financed by the Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources (POSEUR), and to the priority given to the activity of selective collection of packaging waste, remodeling and modernization of infrastructure and awareness campaigns with the population, which translated into an effective and growing participation of citizens in the habits of recycling.
