As part of the EGF Group's campaign, Toneladas de Ajuda (Tons of Aid), the Food Bank of Cova da Beira delivered 55 tonnes of paper/cardboard to Resiestrela, which will be reverted in 5.5 tonnes of food that will later be donated to social support institutions in the municipalities of Belmonte, Celorico da Beira, Covilhã, Fundão, Guarda, Manteigas, Seia, Gouveia, Pinhel, Sabugal, Trancoso and Meda.

Resiestrela, a company with a strong sense of social responsibility, will continue to boost the Toneladas de Ajuda campaign, in order to provide financial support to Social Solidarity Institutions that are currently enrolled and for those that demonstrate an intention to participate, as when delivering plastic packaging, metal, paper, cardboard and glass, the participating institutions will receive a financial contribution.

The materials to be recycled can be left directly at the company's facilities, in the Fundão Sorting Center, and at the seven transfer stations and ecocenters in the municipalities of Almeida, Celorico da Beira, Guarda, Penamacor, Pinhel, Sabugal and Trancoso.

Social Solidarity Institutions who want to participate must register via email to marta.alcada@resiestrela.pt or at comunicacao@egf.pt. After receiving the data, a customer file is opened, which works as a current account for each institution in order to quantify the weight of the material delivered. A weighing slip will be available for any delivery. Deliveries made by other entities are also accepted, provided they are made on behalf of social solidarity institution already registered in the campaign.

For the Executive Director of Resiestrela, Nuno Heitor: “These results were only possible due to the active participation of the community and the Food Bank in this campaign, involving companies in the region to deliver recyclable materials on behalf of the social support entities registered in Toneladas de Ajuda".
