Suldouro, EGF's concessionaire responsible for the treatment and recovery of urban waste in the municipalities of Santa Maria da Feira and Vila Nova de Gaia, increased its selective collection by 16% compared to 2018.

This increase, recorded in all recyclable materials collected, was due to the investment that Suldouro has made in the selective multi-material collection of packaging waste in recent years; namely in vehicles, ecopoints and containers for selective door-to-door collection.

This investment is part of an application financed by the Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources (POSEUR) and, concretizes, a strategic option outlined in the Action Plan of the Strategic Plan for Urban Solid Waste in response to the challenges introduced by PERSU 2020 in regards the increase in multimaterial recycling, thus contributing to the improvement of the service provided to the two municipalities.
