Valorlis, EGF's concessionaire for the Leiria region, is implementing a new vehicle weighing system using RFID technology - radio frequency identification - in all weighbridge scales of the headquarters. The possibility of adopting self-services in the remaining scales at the company's transfer stations is being analysed. 

The vehicles are weighed in self-service on Valorlis' weighbridge scales using an identification card that originates an advanced management of data and impressions.

This weighing system, in addition to allowing faster and more reliable data, also makes it possible to reduce the environmental impact associated with vehicle weighing, since the paper weighing slip is replaced by a small ticket.

Marta Guerreiro, Chief Executive Officer of Valorlis points out that: "This measure is part of Valorlis' commitment to continuous improvement of internal processes and will allow savings in terms of fuel and paper consumption, contributing to greater sustainability, along with others measures implemented such as replacing regular lighting with LED lighting and optimizing selective collection circuits".
