Already 9 of the 14 vehicles that have been reinforced by the selective collection fleet have been delivered to the municipalities of the West region. These vans will support the realization of circuits of greater proximity, in schools and small commerce, for example.

This investment is part of Valorsul's investment plan to be carried out until 2021, which totals 55 million euros. The new vehicles will allow to optimize the conditions for the collection of recyclables as well as to increase the amounts sent for recycling.

The objective is to provide the municipalities of this region - Alcobaça, Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos, Azambuja, Bombarral, Cadaval, Caldas da Rainha, Loures, Lourinhã, Nazaré, Óbidos, Peniche, Rio Maior, Sobral de Monte Agraço and Torres Vedras - additional capacity for recycling, counting on the partnership of the respective local authorities.

The availability of these complementary selective collection funds, funded by the POSEUR program, will contribute to the achievement of the recycling targets of PERSU 2020, whose commitment to the Valorsul area means recycling 49 kg of packaging per inhabitant per year.
